So how has it been recording your first album?

First of all I would like to say that recording this project has been a long journey, but also a great experience. I have to be honest when I first started this album I had no idea of how much work it was really going to be. I remember as a kid my mother Paulette Washington recording her albums and made is seem so easy, but now I see there was a lot of behind the scenes work I didn’t see.

Do you have a release date yet?

Unfortunately no I do not due to the fact that there are a lot of changes still being made and I do not want to rush it especially with this being the first one. I will be releasing a few of my single’s soon just to let the world get a taste of whats to come.

Do you think this album will make a major impact in the music industry?

Yes and no at the same time. When I wrote this album I was writing from my heart and I am actually speaking to myself about a lot of different situation’s I have experienced in my life. So when I started recording I was hoping that this would make a impact on my people’s lives when they hear it, and by doing that of course the music industry is going to hear about it. So in other words yes this album will make a major impact across the board.

How are you so confident? There are so many artist out here why listen to you?

I am confident, because I am speaking the truth and I have a message. There is a lot of music out yeah I admit it is entertaining while you are out wanting to have a good time; but when it comes to riding in my car, sitting in my room, or even blasting my ipod while I run I want to hear real music. My music is speaking on everyday experiences we encounter everyday and I know it works because I tested it on myself first. I have been working on this album for two years, now just to make sure I came correct.

Whats your favorite song on the album?

Wow I think thats probably the hardest question to answer, but if I had to answer it I would say “I Just Wanna Show You” feat. David Disharoon. The reason I like this song is because today there are a lot of people who want to TELL you how you need to act, they try to tell you how you need to walk, and they even try to tell you how you need to talk. This song is basically saying I cant tell you what you need to do, I cant tell you that you have to be a Christian, but I can show you how it was effected my life. To me the most powerful ministry is the ministry of example, and thats exactly what I strive to do. No im not perfect but if you look in my I can show you where God has blessed me. The song is great I believe that will be my first single to release.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

I see myself running my own indie record label (Monument Music Group) and non profit organization (M.A.D.E) full time helping youth be able to reach there goals and full potential in life.

So what does Made Mann do for a living until his music career takes off?

I am a sales professional at Littman Jewelers, I have been working in sales all my life but I recently decided to get into jewelery and I am glad I did. My boss is very considerate of my schedule and he really works with me when it comes to to taking off for shows or anything I need to do. So yeah until my album drops you can catch me everyday at Stonecrest Mall grinding to make my dreams come true.

Who has helped you the most with this album?

Hands down that trophy would go to my parents, especially my mom not only have they been there financially they have also been there with wisdom of the music business that I didn’t have. Next in line would be my right hand man Montay Dickerson (Levi D) he has watched all the good and the bad through this whole process, and he is still standing so I am thankful for a good friend like him. Nita has been there to through a lot of the drama, to help encourage me through each situation. Last but not least these four gentleman have helped me completely when it comes to the actual music. Boss Ross (my engineer) has been there to push me all the way to my limits in the studio. I mean when I say it aint no punching I have to do it all in one take Boss really has took my recording to another level. X-Man (my producer) gave me exactly what I asked for on each and every song, I honestly believe he is the hottest producer out here right now, just because if his versatility.
Nick (my brother) pretty much gave me the hottest song on my album, he produced I just wanna show you. Troy (my cousin) has been there for me 100% even before the music, any flyer, business cards, logo’s, websites etc etc anything you see just know he designed it for me, so I am really thankful for him and his talent. There are so many I can name but these have been the one’s who have really stood out behind the scenes.

You have anything else to say?

All I have to say is get ready because this summer is going to be hot, and I aint talking about the weather! I am excited about whats about to happen, and that God is using me to make it happen. All I ask is that you pray for me during this whole process, and support in anyway you see fit.
